Ohio Politics -- Statewide
[ * --> incumbent , where indicated ]
well , it is the easiest to talk about what I know best , first . and , to return to , and as they say on Capitol Hill , to " revise
and extend my remarks . "
well , i hope not to revise things too often .
Ohio -- Governor & Lt . Governnor
[republican]
John Kasich (former congressman & commentator) &

(former Judge)
Let ' s face it . The economy sucks . No , Strickland did not have everything to do with it . However , it is his watch .
It is also , to a point , his responsibility . the job market is worse , and the ObamaCrats are not helpful at all .

Normally , an incumbent Ohio Governor is (at the least) a mild favourite for re - election . It is just the way
that things tend to work around these parts . Not this year , though . Strickland has been trailing in the polls ,
and he has been struggling to gain any altitude . also , Kasich has had the initiative in the issues debate most
of the way .

Strickland came out firing , right after our primary in May . However , Kasich ' s people counterattacked
right afterward , and he got a good chunk of help from the R. G. A. . that helped a good bit .

Can he win . Maybe . Do I think so ? No . the corruption mess up here in Cuyahoga County is going to cause its own
set of headaches . Mr. Obama is not popular , and his policies are doing much , much worse . and ( addressed below )
he is getting no help from the rest of the ticket .
My call ==> Kasich wins , by about 8 to 10 percent .
Ohio -- U. S. Senate
Rob Portman [R] (former Congresscritter & U. S. Trade Representative )
vs.
Lee Fisher [D] (current Lt. Governor)
vs.
Lee Fisher [D] (current Lt. Governor)
Rob Portman has worked his buns off . he has earned election . his message has been fairly good , but his
fundraising andorganization has been superb . Also , he ( as a first time statewide ) has greatly outraised his opponent .
fundraising andorganization has been superb . Also , he ( as a first time statewide ) has greatly outraised his opponent .
Lee Fisher is the incumbent Lt. Governor . Greater Cleveland is his base . His fundraising has been terrible . and he
has run a horrendous campaign . one of the worst in ohio , or anywhere , in recent memory .
has run a horrendous campaign . one of the worst in ohio , or anywhere , in recent memory .
My call ==> Portman , by 12 to 15 points
Attorney General
Richard Cordray [D] *
vs.
Micheal DeWine [R] (former U.S. Senator , Congresscritter , and Lt. Governor)
vs.
Micheal DeWine [R] (former U.S. Senator , Congresscritter , and Lt. Governor)
Cordray has run a good campaign , but he is going to get caught in the undertow of the upballot races .
My call ==> deWine , by a narrow to medium margin (about 5 to 6 points) . maybe more.
Secretary of State (Chief Elections Officer)
[open seat]
Mary Ellen O ' Shaughnessy (columbus city councilwoman) vs.
Jon Husted (State Senator , for State House Speaker )
Husted has the experience , most of the money , and the momentum . O ' Shaughnessy has the name , but not much else .
My call ==> Husted , by plenty (15 points , at least)
